Refugio Animal Cascada takes in native Chilean wildlife that's been injured, orphaned, or illegally kept as pets — condors, foxes, pumas among them — and gives them a permanent home when they can't survive in the wild anymore. You walk the reserve on foot and see the animals up close in their enclosures.
One of the few places in Chile where you can meet rescued native animals up close, hear their stories from the people caring for them, and know that your visit directly supports the work of rehabilitating wildlife that can no longer survive in the wild.
A notable recognition: primatologist Jane Goodall visited the refuge in 2015 during her trip to South America to initiate a collaboration on environmental education and conservation programs.

Refugio Animal Cascada
The refuge was born from a family, pioneers of ecotourism in Chile since the 1980s. It began when they rehabilitated animals inside their own home including a puma named Huilo.
Refugio Animal Cascada is where you'll have lunch before the guided tour the empanadas here are hard to beat. If you'd rather something sweet, Casa de Chocolate is just around the corner

One of the few places in Chile where you can meet rescued native animals up close, hear their stories from the people caring for them, and know that your visit directly supports the work of rehabilitating wildlife that can no longer survive in the wild.
