El Yeso Reservoir sits at 2,500 meters, fed by glacial water in the heart of the Andes a good spot to walk around, take photos, and enjoy the views.

One of the few places in Chile where you can meet rescued native animals up close, hear their stories from the people caring for them, and know that your visit directly supports the work of rehabilitating wildlife that can no longer survive in the wild.

Huilo lives peacefully with his companion Maqui. He is an elderly puma, but he remains in very good condition thanks to the care he receives.

Maqui wandered over 10 km alone after losing his mother, was rescued in 2013, and now lives happily at the refuge.

Located in the Cascada de las Ánimas Nature Sanctuary, the Cascada Animal Refuge consists of a Rehabilitation Center and an Exhibition Center for native wildlife, where daily efforts are dedicated to the care of any native animal in need.
